Seattle’s Best Teams Square off at UW

Next week eight Metro League schools will battle for a chance to play in the Metro League Championships on one court. The top four boys and top four girls teams will go head-to-head in the Metro League Tournament. These playoff games will take place at Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 and Friday, February 8, 2019.

“Metro League represents quality student athletes from public and private schools in all sports,” stated Pat McCarthy, Assistant Director of Athletics of Seattle Schools. “We are proud to have Varsity Hoops Live produce this event as they continue to positively impact high school students through events and programs on and off the court.”

Former Seattle Sonics fan favorite, Sam Perkins, will be in attendace during the Semifinals at the University of Washington. Perkins is an NBA Legend, former Special Olympics International Board Member and was recently inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame. Perkins has represented Special Olympics and Unified Basketball all around the world. He will make a special presentation to several Seattle Metro League Students Athletes who participate in Unified Basketball.

Wednesday, February 6, 2019 – Semifinals Game Schedule
2019 Metro League Tournament Semifinals schedule of events:

• Semifinal Game #1 – Girls 4:00pm*
• Semifinal Game #2 – Girls 5:30pm*
• Semifinal Game #1 – Boys 7:00pm**
• Semifinal Game #2 – Boys 8:30pm**

* Sports Radio will be broadcasting the Dave “Softy” Mahler and Dick Fain Show LIVE
from 3-7pm from Alaska Airlines Arena
** Sports Radio 950 KJR-AM will be broadcasting the last two games LIVE with Jason Puckett and Francis Williams

Wednesday – Ticket Information
Tickets are available for general admission seating and good for all four games. Tickets will be available the day of the event ONLY beginning at 3:30pm at the HUSKY STADIUM Box Office located on the westside of the Stadium.

Friday, February 8, 2019 – Finals Game Schedule
2019 Metro League Tournament Finals schedule of events:

• Metro League Championship Game – Girls 6:00pm
• Metro League Championship Game – Boys 8:00pm**

** Sports Radio 950 KJR-AM will be broadcasting the 8PM game LIVE with Dick Fain and Bruce Loyd

Friday – Ticket Information
Tickets are available for general admission seating and good for the two (2) Championship Games. Tickets will be available the day of the event ONLY beginning Friday at 4:45pm at the HUSKY STADIUM Box Office located on the westside of the Stadium.

Once fans enter Alaska Airlines Arena for the event, they can stay for the two Championship games. However, they will not be able to re-enter the event if they leave. Ticket prices are as folllows:

Adults/Students without ASB: $10
Students with ASB: $ 5
Kids K-8: $ 5
Seniors 62yrs +: $ 5
