Eighth ranked Kentlake squared off against Kentwood on Thursday night in an SPSL-Northeast showdown. The Falcons grabbed an early lead in which Sydney Peterson scored her team’s first ten points. The Conks struggled to find its rhythm by netting five points in the first quarter. Eventually, Kentwood clawed back to draw within a single point, but Kentlake used this as motivation to increase the gap once again.
An explosive second half for Kentlake highlighted by another pair of Peterson’s four buckets from downtown and six of Aniston Denckla’s ten in the ballgame allowed Kentlake to create separation that would carry the rest of the game. Zaria Jones led the Conks with 11 in the losing effort. Meanwhile, the Falcons continue to fine-tune for the playoffs which are quickly approaching.
