TACOMA, Wash. - Kade Price and Luke Heisel led five double-figure scorers with 16 points apiece, and visiting seventh-ranked Bellarmine Prep stunned No. 3 Lincoln of Tacoma on its home floor for a second consecutive season with a 67-61 boys basketball victory Wednesday night.
It was a big early-season win after Bellarmine Prep dropped a pair of road games at reigning Class 4A champion Gonzaga Prep and Class 3A contender Mount Spokane earlier this month.
“I am a big fan of scheduling hard,” Lions coach Bobby Moorehead said. “That is what I learned from my coach in college is you try and play the best teams you can, because you only have so much to choose from out of league … and I knew it was going to make us better on the road and make us difficult.”
Trailing much of the first half, the Lions led by as many as 11 points in the fourth quarter on the strength of its scorching shooting, making 10 of 14 field-goal attempts, including 10 of their final 11 shots.
Heisel led the way during the scoring barrage with 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter - nine of it coming during a two-minute span attacking the basket and sinking a 3-pointer.
Davion Shareef-Dulaney led all scorers with 26 points - 18 coming in the second half, including 10 in the final 6:28.
