Jackson Homecoming Thwarted by Kamiak
By Colin Caruso

In the second game of the night at Everett Memorial Stadium, the Kamiak Knights took on the Jackson Timberwolves in Jackson’s homecoming game. Jackson packed the stands in a blackout, but Kamiak and their offensive line were too much for Jackson to handle throughout the contest. Kamiak received the opening kickoff, marched straight down the field and capped off the drive with a Tyler Webley touchdown run. No passes were attempted on the drive.

Kamiak forced a Jackson punt on Jackson’s first possession, and Brady Methven returned the punt all the way to the Jackson 2 yard line. A bad snap on the next play kept Jackson in the contest, as the Timberwolves leaped on the ball deep in their own territory and secured the recovery. However, Kamiak’s defense held strong again, forced another punt, and put together another nice drive. The drive was capped by an Austin Hall rushing touchdown. He also added the two point conversion run to take the lead 14-0 after the first frame.

Jackson got on the board early in the second quarter with a much needed score, a 64 yard scamper by senior Nick White to close the gap to 14-7. But Kamiak’s Hall answered the call again, punching in another rushing TD to take the lead 21-7 into halftime.

The Knights forced a three and out on Jackson’s possession following the halftime festivities, and punted to Methven again. This time he wasn’t brought down, and ran all the way down the far sideline for an early score in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 28-7 in favor of the Knights. Jackson was not phased, and White ran for another touchdown for the Timberwolves to get them back in the contest at 28-14. But Kamiak’s offensive and defensive lines were too tough for the Timberwolves, with Webley rushing for another score in the fourth quarter. Jackson was able to get on the board again late in the fourth, but Kamiak took the contest by a final of 35-20.
