A Seattle Community Member into Hall of Fame
By Colin Caruso

A member of the Seattle community for over forty years was elected into his college football hall of fame on September 27, 2013. Tyler Caruso was a phenomenal quarterback for the United States Merchant Marine Academy, located on Long Island Sound in New York. He set the records for most touchdown passes in a game (3), most in a season (10) and most in a career (19). He spent three years as the starter for the USMMA Mariners and also held the record for the longest passing play for a score (63 yards) and most passing yards in a season and a career.

This was the 15th hall of fame class of the USMMA Mariners, which holds a total of 106 inductees into their athletic hall of fame. Tyler has resided in Seattle since his graduation in 1970; he currently lives on Queen Anne with his lovely life Maureen. They have been happily married for 36 years and have three children and two grandchildren, all of whom still reside in Seattle.
